An ongoing internal series where FivePluSix develops visual language without a client brief — pure concept work, built to push our own thinking and test ideas before they reach live projects. Each series runs to three to five pieces.
Each series begins with a single constraint — a colour, a texture, a relationship between two forms — and builds outward from there. The discipline is in staying within the constraint and finding range inside it, not escaping it.
The work is produced across still image, motion, and occasionally type-only pieces. Some have led directly into client projects. Others exist purely as research. Both outcomes are valid.
The first volume explored the relationship between analogue grain and high-contrast light — how noise functions not as degradation but as presence. Twelve pieces over six weeks, all produced in-house. Several have since been adapted into live campaign work.
